How Do I Transfer?

Authorization Code?

1) To transfer, your domain has to be at least 60 days old.
2) You will need to log in and retrieve your EPP or Authorization code for that domain from your current registrar.
3) You also need to disable your domain lock or registrar lock for the domain with it's current registrar.
4) You may also have to disable your privacy protection from that current registrar so you will receive the verification email.
5) You will then be able to transfer in, add hosting, and select any addons you need.
6) You will receive an email on the email account that the domain is registered with to click a verify link.

Name Servers?

If you are unsure what to use for your name servers, just leave the default name-servers provided.

How Long Will It Take?

The domain transfer process can take anywhere from a few days to 14 business days.

What Do I Need?

What Addons Do I Need?

DNS Management?

When you checkout, you will see an addon option for DNS Management.

This option comes with any Hosting Plan.

If you are only registering a domain, you may or may not want DNS Management.

This option will be required for enabling the Email Forwarding option for the domain (such as yourName@yourDomain.com).

Manage your domain easily with your account. Once logged-in select your domain to manage all aspects of it.

  • Nameservers
  • Transfer lock
  • WHOIS information
  • Privacy protection

ID Protection?

When you checkout, you will see an addon option for ID Proection.

This option is highly RECOMMENDED FOR EVERYONE who purchases hosting and/or a domain.

If you are purchasing hosting or only registering a domain or both, you most likely want the benefits of ID Protection.

The WHOIS database often lists your personal information associated to your domain publicly. This may expose your name, address, email, or phone number to spammers. ID Protection blocks your information from the database and replaces it with generic information.

Email Forwarding?

When you checkout, you will see an addon option for Email Forwarding.

This option comes with any Hosting Plan.

If you are only registering a domain, you may or may not want Email Forwarding.

In order to enable Email Forwarding, you will also need to enable the DNS Management.
